Best Chong Qing Food in Kuala Lumpur
My sister took me to this restaurant in Kuchai Lama, Chong Qing Xiang La Guo Restaurant (重庆香辣锅) and she said it’s one of the more authentic Chong Qing restaurants in KL. She has been there a few times so I was quite happy to go check out the place since I always have cravings for spicy food.
We got there early before 6 pm and got a table right away, my sister said she had waited for over an hour in the past during peak hours around 8 pm just to get a table.
Since there’s only the 2 of us, we again over ordered like when we were living in China, 2 meat and 2 noodles which the portions were huge. Chong Qing food is quite oily but so fragrant and spicy at the same time, so I had to overlook the oil floating around most of the dishes. I loved the Grilled Green Chili Barbecue Fish the most as the meat was fresh and juicy. The Shui Zhu Pork was good too as the meat was very smooth in texture. Both the noodles were good too, 1 is sour and spicy soup noodle and the other one is a dry noodle spicy minced pork. Overall the food was excellent and I’ll definitely come back again whenever I crave for some authentic mainland Chinese spicy food.
