Steak Rosso Rosso is the place for Japanese steak in Niseko. It has quite a comprehensive choices for steak cooked in Japanese Fushion style. Diner reservation months before is highly recommended in order to secure a table. From ¥5,000++, you could order a 5 courses dinner. Of course the more expensive Wahyu beef will set you back ¥10,600 – ¥13,600 if you want to splurge.
We settled for Hokkaido Steak instead for ¥5,900++, with Hokkaido Vegetable Minestrone Soup and Red Snow Crab Croquette as appetizer, Asparagus Springrolls with Sweet Chilli Sauce and Bacon Wrapped Scallops with Red Wine Sauce as entree, following with our choice of steak cooked on hot stone, served with garlic bread or rice. The sweet ending was a homemade sorbet. I loved how juicy our steaks turned out, and the hot stone plate used could be used to further cook the meat to your satisfaction. I also highly recommend the Bacon Wrapped Scallops with Red Wine Sauce too they were divine.
Overall, it was a good dinner, simple and no fuss, just choose your meat and side dishes. The walk from Upper Hirafu was quite interesting through walking through some nice and unique architectures in Niseko. Just make sure you book in advance if you fancy some Japanese Steaks during your ski trip to Niseko.
