Fukuya Japanese Restaurant has been around for a while now and we never got to try their famous set lunch until recently. I remembered them when they were in Bangsar before it was closed sometime ago. Tucked in the quiet street of Jalan Delima (despite all the construction going on around the neighbourhood), Fukuya maintains its Zen aura with the very minimalist design from the entrance to its dining area.
Parking is easy as there are car parks in front of this bungalow restaurant. Else you can always opt for Grab or Uber to get you to the restaurant. Compared to the busy Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie next door, Fukuya Japanese Restaurant is absolutely a Zen looking place once you enter the restaurant ground.

The set lunch menu is simple with 6 choices to choose from. The famous Fuku Fuku Lunch (RM40++) comes with 2 main dishes to choose from 15 available dishes on the menu, which also includes appetizer, salad, mini steamed egg custard a.k.a. Chawanmushi, steamed rice, miso soup, pickles and dessert. I went for the Seiro Set (RM43++) with choice of steamed rice with grilled eel, salmon or scallops served with sashimi, fried dish, miso soup, pickles and dessert. My Seiro Set with scallops proved to be a more worthier choice compared with the Fuku Fuku Lunch as it has seafood, tempura and sashimi all in one set. Not forgetting the appetizer, salad and Chawanmushi that I absolutely enjoyed. The portion was huge and I must say it was indeed very good value for money. I enjoyed every bit of the lunch and felt completely satisfied after the meal. Fukuya Japanese Restaurant is definitely a good place for good Japanese food in downtown Kuala Lumpur!
