Finally the famous minimalist and no-brand Japanese design brand, Muji (無印良品) had open its first store in Malaysia at Level 5 of Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur on 14 April 2012. I always miss Muji ever since I was introduced to it when I was in China and Hong Kong, and been wanting to check out the KL store earlier but was so busy with my birthday celebration and work and other things. So last weekend when I was in KL I decided to drop by to see if I could find my favourite compact eyelash curler which I lost last year to the ruthless snatch thief. 

The store is actually the smallest ever that I’d been, it is without its famous food section too, only with some small selection of household wares, skincare and makeup accessories, apparel, bags, stationery, kitchenware, bedding items. The selection was disappointingly limited and some items were obviously overpriced. I saw the pair of slipper that I bought in China for RMB39.90 (if I remember correctly) and it is selling here for RM29.90! Which is 50% more that what it is selling in China! Also some of the similar items are also available at Daiso for a fraction of the price than Muji, like my favourite plastic box organizers.

Anyway, I didn’t spend much time in the store because it was so small, and I was lucky to have found the last Compact Eyelash Curler on the shelf for RM18.90. I used to use the Shu Umera Eyelash Curler but it was not convenient to bring it around so when I discovered this tiny eyelash curler from Muji I quickly fell in love with it! I was disappointed with the tiny store that Muji opened in Malaysia, hopefully they will bring a bigger one elsewhere in Klang Valley soon…. perhaps One Utama?? I’m wishing and hoping….
