As the first and oldest commercial street in Beijing, Qian Men Da Shi Lan Shopping Area (前门大栅栏) has been recently renovated for the Olympic 2008. All the Lao Zi Hao (老字号 – Chinese time-honoured brand business) can be found here although a lot of shops have yet to be opened. The Peking Duck shop there was filled with tourist and the queue was so long. I went there for a walk alone but didn’t really shop cause all the shops were mostly souvenirs & food stuff. You can get there easily via Subway Line 2 and exit at Qian Men station (前门站).
