All Day Dining at Element Kuala Lumpur – TRACE Restaurant & Bar
While we were staying at Element Kuala Lumpur (full review here), we had the pleasures to try the afternoon tea and dinner at TRACE Restaurant & Bar, on top of the breakfast included with the room. TRACE Restaurant & Bar is the all day dining option and the only restaurant in the Hotel. The large window panes along most parts of the restaurant which allow natural sunlights and beautiful views of the city are probably my favourite features of this restaurant.
Arteastry Afternoon Tea
Arteastry Afternoon Tea is Element Kuala Lumpur special afternoon tea available on Saturdays, Sundays & Public Holidays from 1pm til 5pm, featuring an array of savoury, sweet and pot of tea with a touch of creative presentation.
We started with the savoury selections presented on beautifully laid plates with dry ice. Personally I always prefer savoury food over sweet stuff, so I enjoyed the selections of savoury items in this afternoon tea. From Beef mushroom herbs croquette, Salmon Apple Avocado in Basil Cone, Smoked turkey breast in Paris Brest, Red pepper tomato macaroon, Soy glazed portobello focaccia, we were spoilt with choices!
Once we were done with the savoury items, a chef came to our table and laid out some special papers on our paper. Then, she started drawing on the papers with strokes of chocolate sauce, chlorophyll crumble, fresh berries, chocolate soil, toasted marshmallow and mango chutney. The centerpiece of the dessert was a dark chocolate dome with brownies. It was quite mesmerizing to watch the chef drew your entire dessert from scratch right in front of you.
Apart from the wonderful sweet and savoury selections, tea selections included oolong, black tea, white tea or green tea. Therefore, for the price of RM128 nett for 2 persons, Arteastry Afternoon Tea is well worth the money! Also, they are changing up the items in the menu now and then just to add more variety to their afternoon tea.
Dinner at TRACE Restaurant & Bar
Still full from a late afternoon tea, we barely made it to dinner at TRACE Restaurant & Bar at 9pm. We ordered from their Sharing DInner Platter menu by choosing the Sous Vide Beef Short Ribs (RM155), as well the Lamb Kuzi (RM42) from their Asian menu. We also added a Smoked Loch Fyne Salmon (RM38) as our starter.
We loved the Lamb Kuzi, a braised lamb shank with Malaysian spices. Big Teddy even went as far to say that this was the best lamb shank he had ever tasted! After tasting it, I totally agreed with him too. The Sous Vide Beef Short Ribs however was a lil overcooked to my taste.
Open daily from from 6.30am – 11.00pm, TRACE Restaurant & Bar is a great place for casual dining in the KLCC vicinity. So check out the restaurant if you’re looking for something new. We will definitely heading back for the Lamb Kuzi for sure!
