Best Seafood Restaurant in Niseko – Ezo Seafoods Oyster Bar

Ezo Seafoods Oyster Bar is known to be the best seafood restaurant in Niseko for many years now since 2009. Table reservations always fully booked months ahead. We didn’t get to make a booking when we were there but decided to walk in just to try our luck. Luckily for us, we managed to squeeze a table for late dinner, probably easier since it was just the two of us. This restaurant is run by James Gallagher, an Aussie and his Japanese wife and head chef, Keiko Takaoka. James has a very interesting story on his journey to Niseko (you read it all here), and we love passionate people and places like this.

Top Tips: Online table reservation at Ezo Seafoods Oyster Bar is a must months in advance! Else you will have to try your luck just like we did.

While we were lingering downstairs waiting for our table to be ready, James promptly made some recommendations on dishes for our dinner and we just went for it.

Best Dinner We Had In Niseko

Our dinner was fantastic and probably the best we had on this trip to Niseko. I loved the extremely fresh king crab legs and oysters, as well as the fried whitebait and mixed seafood stew with white wine sauce. All the food came swiftly after we sat down at our table and the service was attentive For about ¥20,000 (if I remembered correctly), we got ourselves the freshest seafood in Niseko and a bottle of wine, not particularly wallet-friendly in Malaysia’s standard but we were on vacation so indulgence was totally justifiable. Who’s gonna say no to king crab legs anyway?! This dinner at Ezo Seafoods Oyster Bar was the best meal we had during our trip to Niseko, hence I truly undertand why this restaurant is always rated as one of the best restaurants in Niseko.
