Amelie Movie Fan Must Visit Amelie Cafe in Montmartre
Café des Deux Moulins (French for “Two Windmills”) is famous to be known as the Amelie Cafe in the Montmartre area of Paris, after its appearance in the 2001 film Amelie, in which it is the workplace of the title character. The establishment opened its doors at the beginning of the 20th century, but did not take its current name until the 1950s, so it’s a really old cafe around.
Since we are living nearby in Montmartre, we decided to walk over for breakfast on our last day in Paris. For €12, we each get coffee/tea/hot chocolate, orange juice, bread, croissant and 3 eggs. Overall, it was just a simple no fuss place to have a coffee, wine and also a bite to eat, if you don’t mind the tourists constantly taking picture of the Amelie’s portrait inside the cafe….
Have you seen Amelie the movie? Would you pay a visit to this cafe due to its movie link?
