Located in the wet market at the corner of Java Road right across the MTR exit, this wet market is more famous for Tung Po Kitchen which are always filled with people waiting for tables, but New Tsiu Wah Bistro offered a quieter dining experience with its vast selection of its Hong Kong styled Hot Pot Rice (煲仔飯). We wanted to try out Tung Po but the wait would take way too long so we decided to settle for the Hot Pot Rice instead. We ordered two pots of rice and both turned out alright with a layer of crunch rice left at the inner side of the clay pots. But somehow I still prefer the Malaysian way of cooking hot pot rice with the thick sweet soy sauce instead of the Hong Kong styled normal soy sauce. Still, my parents and sister seemed to enjoy it, perhaps I was missing my red hot chilli to go with rice… ^o^
