Food For Thought 228 – Crab Factory: Original Louisiana Boil @ SS2

Ok I’m a lil late when it comes to embracing the whole Louisiana Cajun cuisine that started 2 years ago in Klang Valley by restaurants like Shell Out and Crab Factory: Original Louisiana Boil. So I took Big Teddy to SS2 to try the Crab Factory: Original Louisiana Boil when I had the cravings for seafood sometime in August. 
It was early when we got there on a weekend evening for dinner so we got seated right away. Since they were running a promotion for almost 1 kilo of bamboo lobsters and yabbies combo with sausages and enoki mushroom cooked together, plus free chicken wings and sirup bandung for RM189 nett. Big Teddy as usual added Gumbo (typical Louisiana soup) and Prawn Remoulade (boiled shrimps on lettuce with Remoulade sauce) to round up our dinner. I liked the Prawn Remoulade because the whole combination of shrimps, lettuce and sauce were extremely good. As for the Gumbo, I found it just alright and portion is very small for the price that they are charging. Then, our seafood combo came with the chosen Signature Southern Bang sauce with O’ly Crab spicy level (2nd hottest level), since I don’t want to kill Big Teddy with the most spicy level sauce. I loved the spicy lobsters and yabbies that were cooked to perfection in their signature sauce. With a big mess that we made as we dug through the plastic bag filled with delicious seafood (there were no plates and we were supposed to eat with our hands), we managed to finish all the food on the table without much troubles. I wished there were more seafood as it wasn’t cheap for 2 person to spend RM284 (including 2 beers), but once a while splurge on seafood was deemed reasonable, especially on good American Southern seafood cooking!
