The most famous sky bar in Bangkok and one of my all time favourite sky bar in the world is Sirocco Sky Bar & Distil at Lebua State Tower. Located at 63rd floor, overlooking a panoramic view of Bangkok and the Chao Phraya River, both bars have their uniqueness to offer. Of course the Sky Bar gets the most hype due to its glass terrace extended out from the skyscraper, but the huge crowd there every night is something that one must endure for the fantastic view with very limited space between each other. I personally prefer Distil better because I’d get to lie down on the sofa lounge outside at the terrace, despite the view is not as good as Sky Bar’s.
Dress code is quite strict here so please wear accordingly, I quote from their website – “To provide a pleasant atmosphere for all our guests, we require Smart Casual attire. Please refrain from wearing athletic
clothing, sport uniforms, or ripped clothing. Gentlemen should not wear
shorts or sleeveless t-shirts. Footwear: Please refrain from wearing slippers, beach sandals, Birkenstocks, or flip flops. Gentlemen should wear fully covered shoes.”

We were there early before 7pm just to beat the crowd but apparently everybody did that too… It was so crowded after 8pm, people were just knocking each other just to get a place to stand. We barely moved around cause it was getting so packed and we didn’t want to loose our best spot by the glass terrace looking out to the Chao Phraya River and the whole Bangkok jam (traffic jam it is). Cocktails were expensive as expected (THB470 + 17% tax), but everyone came here only for the view and I saw some people just came in to take some pictures without ordering anything at all. Well M and I are no cheapskate so we ordered 2 cocktails and happily sipping the drinks by the edge of the Sky Bar. The lighting was quite bad so I didn’t really managed to take much of good pictures of ourselves having fun there π

After our feet got tired of standing at the Sky Bar, we went over to Distil bar which is located on the right side of the Dome (Sky Bar and Sirocco are on the left side). We were lucky to get ourselves the sofa lounge seat outside at the terrace, again with the beautiful Bangkok view, and ordered 2 more cocktails, Mojito and Mai Tai (THB470+ each) before we called it a night.
