The Victory Gate is one of the 5 entrance gates in Angkor Thom, that leads the Victory Way all the way to the Elephant Terrace. On the two sides of the Victory Gate entrance, there are statues
representing the
Hindu story of the churning of the milky ocean, which the god is pulling on the serpent’s head and tail. We used the gate mainly to exit or cut through Angkor Thom to get to our next destination. I thought the gate would look glorious back in the old days…
