Seoul 119 – Korean Traditional Musical of Miso (美笑/미소)

Miso at Chongdong Theater’s “Korean Traditional Stage” has been
running ever since 1997. Here the audience can enjoy a selection of Korea’s most famous traditional performing arts, such as
pansori, a traditional percussion quartet, a fan dance, and dance that
was once performed in a shamanism exorcism ritual. Detailed subtitles
in English, Japanese, and Chinese were available during the performance.
It was quite a slow performance to me with a predictable story line, i.e. young couple fell in love then separated by an evil suitor, in the end love prevails and happy ending to all. Still it was quite a good show incorporated with all the Korean traditional elements. After the show the audience could take photos with the performers in the Chongdong Theater’s outdoor courtyard.
