We almost missed our flight due to the unexpected morning jam to KL Sentral. We barely made it to the boarding gate right before it closed at 9am. Thank God everything else went smoothly right after we have touched down on Bangkok airport. We grabbed our luggage and took a cab straight to our hotel, Ibis at Pratunam, Siam. The taxi drivers in Bangkok are getting more & more greedy and we had no choice but to pay a hefty 700BHT to get to our hotel. I knew for a fact that a meter taxi wouldn’t take more than 400BHT to our destination. The Thai government should seriously do something about it, as well as the M’sia government to fight taxi tout!
After half an hour ride, we arrived at the hotel ready to check in. We picked this hotel because of its centralized location and we got a great deal for 750BHT per night online versus the board rate of 2,000BHT. This was the first time I tried this hotel and I was surprisingly pleased by the room’s quality given the price that we paid. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk to Pratunam market, 30 minutes walk to Siam (Siam Paragon/Central World/Siam Square), and 10 minutes walk to Victory Monument BTS station. The hotel’s staffs were very friendly and more than willing to help us to get a meter taxi from the hotel to anywhere we want. Overall, I loved my stay at the Ibis hotel.
