Beijing 114 – Shopping Cart from Beijing

Beijing is not particularly a good place to shop as prices here are much more expensive than most other countries. For example, I bought an Estee Lauder’s cleanser for my sis which only cost about RM90 (RMB180) in Malaysia but we saw the same product selling in Beijing for RM140 (RMB280). Still I couldn’t help myself but to buy a few stuff in Beijing. I fell in love with the Pink/Grey Nike Zoom shoes which I bought from Nike San Li Tun (三里屯) which cost me about RM305 (RMB610). I used them to climb the Great Wall & walked the Forbidden City with me. I also got myself my first Chinese name chop (刻章) on a beautiful red stone (鸡血石) and a Chinese red ink (印泥) to go with it. Of course I also bought some local games like the Chinese Mao Jian (毛毽 – a type of sport where one kicks the Mao Jian and to sustain it for as long as he/she could among himself/herself or with other peers) and Tai Chi Ball (太极柔力球 – a type of sport where one keeps the ball balance on the racquet). Last but not least, since the Beijing Olympic 2008 fever was still all around the city, I also bought some Beijing Olympic Mascots -Fuwa (福娃) as souvenirs and an Adidas Beijing Olympic Sun Visor for myself. Other than that, I just went for window shopping around Beijing as my wallet was growing thinner by each day after spending on food & sight seeing.
