War Remnants Museum (Bảo tàng chứng tích chiến tranh) is a war museum containing exhibitions about the almost 20 years long Vietnam War from 1955-1975. It was raining heavily so we had plenty of time in the museum while waiting for the rain to stop. For VND15,000 (RM2.50), we spent at least a good 2-3 hours there cause the rain just wouldn’t stop pouring. The museum has a lot of photo galleries contributed by different war journalists, whom mainly didn’t survive the war. It was kinda sad looking at those pictures especially most of them carry such sad emotional triggers. I always wonder what went through those people’s minds living through times of war. From the pictures also clearly showed the ugly side of war, particularly the chemical war tactic, code-named Agent Orange used in the Vietnam war.   

The museum also has some relics from the war, such as guns, bullets, grenades, bombs etc inside the museum and some military equipment like helicopter, tanker, bomber, fighter jet parked outside the museum.

Overall, it is quite a depressing place to spend your afternoon at. Also this museum is very anti-American and one-sided in their presentation. But hey, it is still a communist country and they could do whatever they like in their country. However ultimately, war is a definitely a bad thing and this museum really showcased the ugliest and worst side of war. Peace out…
