Man Tao Bar – The Latest Rooftop Bar in Kuala Lumpur
During our stay at Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur (full review here), we also checked out their rooftop bar, Man Tao Bar located at the 21st floor in the evening before dinner. This new rooftop bar is facing the iconic KL Tower and the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve/ KL Forest Eco-Park, the only green lung of KL city centre.
We wanted to swim and hang out by the pool before chilling at the bar, but the weather turned so quickly that suddenly a thunderstorm was upon us. So we decided to have a round of drinks at Man Tao Bar before we headed back to the room. This bar specialises in the Tsingtao Cocktails, which they make from the famous chinese beer, Tsingtao beer. I was intrigued so I ordered the Tsing Tini (RM40), a combination of elderflower liqueur, watermelon juice and basil leaves with Tsingtao beer. The cocktail was light and refreshing, even though I didn’t need one for such a rainy day. Still I enjoyed the cocktail while Big Teddy was sipping his large Tsingtao Beer (RM35).
Unfortunately, the rain didn’t stop in time for us to enjoy the sunset over KL Tower. Therefore, we will have to return another day to enjoy the view and take our time with our cocktails on a good weather day. So, tell me where is your favourite rooftop bar?

As a cocktail aficionado, I love the watermelon and elderflower liqueur cocktail that you ordered! It’s exactly the kind of drink I crave in the summer. The views from Man Tao Bar look amazing. We’re doing an Asia trip later on this year, so I’m definitely keeping this bar on my radar!
This looks like a cool place. Too bad that it rained on you. I think our favorite roof top bar is the PB Ale House. It’s close to home but has great ocean views at sunset. It’s all about the views from the roof top bars.
Lovely bar — and the Tsing Tini cocktail looks like it has my name on it! The location and view are perfect — so hopefully you’ll get back there sometime soon to experience it with better visibility. I’ll bet the view of Kuala Lumpur’s evening lights is incredible!
I’ve had bad luck with rain recently too! Your pictures came out great though, I’d love to have a drink here 🙂
I love rooftop bars! So cool that this one has a pool too. It’d be great to take a dip and then have a sunset cocktail. Would love to visit this one.
This rooftop has a fantastic view of KL Tower! I would take a dip in that infinity pool during the day and come back for a drink at night to see the skyline!
It still looks like a sweet place to chill despite the rain. Cant beat rooftop bars with pools!
