London 113 – Zizzi Ristorante @ Shad Thames

After our Tower Bridge Experience, we wandered into Shad Thames, a historic riverside street next to Tower Bridge in Bermondsey, London.  It was a nice converted warehouses areas with numerous cafes, bars, shops and estate agents. We couldn’t decide on where to go for lunch so we just settled for Zizzi Ristorante as we walked passed it in the Shad Thames .Zizzi is a chain of Italian restaurants found across the United Kingdom that was founded in 1999, and there are 140 Zizzi restaurants in the UK.
The restaurant was half filled with working people from nearby offices I presumed. We ordered the Rustica Pizza Pulled Pork Napoli (£12.65++), their signature rustica pizza which was hand stretched that bit further and longer than the normal round shaped pizza for a bigger base, a crispier texture and more toppings, as well as a Lamb Rosmarino (£14.05++). The pizza was thin, crispy and slightly different from what we have in Malaysia. The lamb was just alright but nothing special. Overall it was just okay for a quick lunch with pretty standard menu from a Italian chain restaurant…
