Mu Tian Yu Section of the Great Wall (慕田峪长城) is a section of the Great Wall of China located in Huairou County 70km northeast of Beijing. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is connected with Juyongguan Pass in the west and Gubeikou Gateway in the east. As one of the best-preserved parts of the Great Wall, Mutianyu section of Great Wall used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs.

After our stop at the Huang Hua Zhen’s Wild Great Wall, we arrived at the Mu Tian Yu Great Wall and paid RMB96 per pax for the entrance ticket (RMB40), return tickets of the ropeway/skidway (RMB55) and Insurance (RMB1 – for the sum insured up to RMB20,000).

It only took up less than 5 minutes to get up to the mountains by the ropeway and we were free to explore the 20 watch towers on this stretch of the Great wall. Gosh I finally could call myself a Chinese after landing on this World’s Greatest Wonder. The scenery up there was simply amazing and I was absolutely ran out of words to describe the beauty of the Great Wall. All I remembered saying was “Wow!” & “Cool!”. ^-^

After climbing 4 or 5 watch towers, we were so tired and barely made our way back to the ropeway station. The stairs of the Great Wall were so steep and some part of the Great Wall I really thought that I was going to die if I slipped and fell from the stairs. I’d not recommend people without stamina and those who are physically unfit to climb the Great Wall cause it is very dangerous~!

Fortunately I’d made it out alive and still had the heart to take the skidway down the Great Wall. The skidway was similar to the Singapore’s Sentosa Luge and I did get my need for speed satisfied by going full speed at certain part of the skidway. It was so fun~!
