Bali 109 – Bebek Bengil ( Dirty Duck Diner ) Restaurant

Bebek Bengil ( Dirty Duck Diner ) Restaurant is one of the famous restaurants in Ubud and according to the tour guide, reservation must be made in advance in order to secure a table, and your duck! We went for early dinner after shopping at the Ubud town market. This restaurant had the best ambiance (apart from Jimbaran Bay) out of all the restaurants that we had been in this island, with lovely decorations and eating area right next to the paddy field. Having said that, this is also a very expensive restaurant, for about RM27, we got a half a small duck steamed in Indonesian spices and then
fried for a crispy finish that came with a choice of sauteed
potatoes and a side salad or steamed rice and Indonesian vegetables. I preferred the grilled duck better (RM28) that was nicely marinated with Balinese sauce with sweet chili sauce and rice served at side. We also ordered some satays as snacks. Service was good, which was expected out of it since we paid quite a price for the meal there. Food was alright and worth trying for the first time, but I don’t think I’d go back again, maybe I’m just not a fan of duck. ^o^
