Since December of 1999, Q Bar at Nana is the place to go for good cocktails in Bangkok. Finally I got the chance to go there this last trip since we were just staying nearby. All dressed up and in high heels, we walked through the busy alley of Sukhumvit Soi 11, which is also home to the famous Bed Supperclub. The night was young when we got there so we decided to chill at Q Bar first and to sample some of their New York styled cocktails. Located right at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 11 across Le Fenis Hote, this bar is a two floors setup, with downstairs is the club and main bar area while the Upstairs Lounge (also known as Q UP) is the brainchild of designer
Bruno Tanquerel, responsible for Europe’s renowned Buddha Bars. It was a really dim and dark bar when we first got inside, and we headed straight up to the lounge as downstairs was pretty dead. Their cocktail selections were quite good with lots of ultra chic cocktails inspired by The Big Apple.

This bar is also infamous for the prostitutes hang out and we were pretty sure we saw quite a few of the working girls all dressed up waiting to be picked up. Well that’s very much part of Bangkok’s nightlife anyway…
Overall, drinks were good but service were slow and inattentive, the outdoor lounge could be a little hot and watch out for the mosquitoes. Probably next time if I return to this bar I’d stick to air conditioned section instead…
