Food For Thought 208 – Capital Nasi Dagang Kelantan @ Damansara Utama

Nasi Dagang has always been one of my favourite East Coast food since I grew up in the East Coast. Unfortunately it has been very hard to find back home in Kuantan. So when I heard that there is a new restaurant at Damansara Uptown selling my favourite food, I hurried to Capital Nasi Dagang Kelantan over the weekend just to try out this famous Kelantan outlet which finally made its debut in Klang Valley. The original restaurant in Kota Bahru apparently is a very famous restaurant runs by a Chinese couple and I’m glad that now the Klang Valley people get to try this delicious food.
We ordered the Nasi Dagang Gulai Ikan Tongkol (RM7.90) and Nasi Dagang Gulai Ikan Tongkol and Beef Rendang (RM10.90). The food came quickly although the restaurant was quite full on a Saturday late morning. The Nasi Dagang was awesome and I love every bit of it. The Gulai Ikan Tongkol was thick but not too spicy, while the Beef Rendang was very tender and soft. We prefer our Nasi Dagang to be wet and we had to ask for extra gravy. Nonetheless, I must say I had never has such a satisfying meal in a very long time and I would definitely be a frequent customer here….
