Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan (武陵源) – Day 2

Wulingyuan is noted for its approximately 3,100 tall quartzite sandstone pillars, some of which are over 800 metres (2,600 ft) in height and are a type of karst formation. Personally I think Wulingyuan has better views than the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. The walk around the mountains was much more bearable than the first day. Perhaps certain part of the park is facilitated by tram. The most famous pillar in Zhangjiajie is located in Wulingyuan, which is made famous by Avatar’s floating mountains.
