First African American US President – Barack Obama

Barack Obama made history yesterday for being the first African American to be elected President of the United States. Well technically speaking he is not all African American, being born to a Kenyan father and a Caucasian mother, he is only 50% African. I wonder why people still call one black just because one’s skin color appeared darker. The same goes to Helle Berry who is also born to a black father and a white mother. As the world is getting smaller and each culture is getting cross pollinated with the increasing cross culture marriages, the world is loosing its different individual cultures and slowly becoming one big mixed culture. I have no objection with mixed culture and I do believe that one should become the best person he or she could regardless of which culture that one is coming from. Perhaps learning and combining the best from different cultures would make the world a better place. Let’s hope that Obama could do better than all his predecessors and leave his mark in the history for not only being the first African American President, but also the President who made the world a better place. God bless the world~!
